Ye Specific Ratios Kyun?

Ratios kisi bhi diye gaye angle ke liye constant hote hain kyunki similar triangle properties ki wajah se. Chaliye derive karte hain kyun:

  1. Do right triangles lo jinka angle same ho lekin sizes alag hon
  2. AA similarity se (dono mein 90° hai aur share karte hain), triangles similar hain
  3. Similar triangles ki corresponding sides proportional hoti hain
  4. Isliye: — ye ratio sirf par depend karta hai, triangle size par nahi
  5. Is constant ratio ko hum kehte hain

Yahi WAJAH hai ki trigonometric functions exist karte hain: ye us angle-to-ratio relationship ko capture karte hain jo saare right triangles mein universal hai.

First Principles Se Derivation

In ratios ke specific values jo hain wo kyun hain?

Chaliye equilateral triangle use karke scratch se derive karte hain:

  1. Equilateral triangle lo, saari sides = 2 units, saare angles = 60°

  2. Ek vertex se opposite side par ek perpendicular daalo

  3. Isse do 30-60-90 right triangles ban jaate hain

  4. Perpendicular base ko bisect karta hai: har half = 1 unit

  5. Height ke liye Pythagorean theorem use karo:

  6. Ab 30° angle par focus karo (top par):

    • Opposite side = 1 (base ka half)
    • Hypotenuse = 2
  7. Definition se:

  8. 60° angle ke liye (base par):

    • Opposite = (height)
    • Hypotenuse = 2

Ye dikhata hai: Trig values arbitrary nahi hain — ye specific triangles ki geometric properties se nikalta hai.

Recall Feynman Explanation (Ek 12-saal ke bacche ko samjhao)

Socho tum ek wall climb karne ke liye ladder bana rahe ho. Tum do cheezein jaante ho: kitni steep ladder chahiye (angle) aur tumhari ladder kitni lambi hai. SOH-CAH-TOA ek magic recipe hai jo exactly batata hai tum kitna oopar pahunchoge.

Right triangle ko ek ladder problem ki tarah socho:

  • Ladder hypotenuse hai (lambi diagonal wali part)
  • Tum kitna oopar pahuncho ye opposite side hai (ground angle se opposite)
  • Ladder ko wall se kitni door rakhte ho ye adjacent side hai (ground angle ke next to)

SOH-CAH-TOA bas teen recipes hain:

  1. SOH kehta hai: "Agar main angle aur ladder ki length jaanta hun, to main height find kar sakta hun" (Sine = Opposite ÷ Hypotenuse)
  2. CAH kehta hai: "Agar main angle aur ladder ki length jaanta hun, to main ground distance find kar sakta hun" (Cosine = Adjacent ÷ Hypotenuse)
  3. TOA kehta hai: "Agar main height aur ground distance jaanta hun, to main bataa sakta hun kitni steep hai" (Tangent = Opposite ÷ Adjacent)

YE KAAM KYUN KARTA HAI: Same angle par saari ladders ki height aur length ka same "ratio" hota hai. 60° par ek 10-foot ladder apni length ka utna hi fraction reach karti hai jitna 60° par ek 100-foot ladder. In ratios ke special names hain: sine, cosine, tangent.

What does SOH stand for in trigonometry? :: Sine = Opposite / Hypotenuse

What does CAH stand for in trigonometry?
Cosine = Adjacent / Hypotenuse
What does TOA stand for in trigonometry?
Tangent = Opposite / Adjacent
In a right triangle, which side is the hypotenuse?
Sabse lambi side, 90° angle ke opposite
For a given angle θ in a right triangle, which side is "opposite"?
Angle θ ke across wali side, jo θ ke vertex ko touch nahi karti
For a given angle θ in a right triangle, which side is "adjacent"?
Angle θ ke vertex ko touch karne wali side (lekin hypotenuse nahi)
Which trig ratio should you use if you know the hypotenuse and want the opposite side?
Sine (SOH): sin(θ) = opposite/hypotenuse
Which trig ratio should you use if you know opposite and adjacent sides?
Tangent (TOA): tan(θ) = opposite/adjacent
How do you find angle when you know sin(θ) = 0.5?
Inverse sine use karo: θ = sin⁻¹(0.5) = 30°
Why do similar right triangles with the same acute angle have constant side ratios?
Kyunki similar triangles ki corresponding sides proportional hoti hain, isliye ratio sirf angle par depend karta hai, triangle ke size par nahi
What is the relationship between tan(θ), sin(θ), and cos(θ)?
tan(θ) = sin(θ) / cos(θ)

If a ladder makes a 60° angle with the ground and is 8 m long, how high does it reach? Use sin(60°) ≈ 0.866 :: height = 8 × sin(60°) = 8 × 0.866 ≈ 6.93 m
