Ek fraction, ek decimal, aur ek percentage ek hi number ke teen alag-alag costume hain . 2 1 , 0.5 , aur 50% teeno number line pe usi ek point ko point karte hain. Inhe convert karna bas costume badalna hai, insaan nahi .
KYUN hamare paas teen forms hain? Kyunki har ek alag situation mein convenient hoti hai. Fractions exact ratios ke liye (3 1 pizza ka), decimals calculators/measurements ke liye (0.333 … metres), percentages comparisons ke liye (33% off).
KYA cheez inhe unite karti hai? Ye sab "ek whole ka kitna?" ka jawab deti hain. Percent ka matlab literally hota hai "per hundred" — yani whole ko 100 pieces mein kaat diya.
Ek fraction b a ka matlab hai "b barabar parts mein se a parts" (b = 0 ).
Ek decimal ek number ko place values use karke likhta hai: tenths, hundredths, thousandths (0.1 = 10 1 , 0.01 = 100 1 ).
Ek percentage p % ka matlab hai ==100 p == — "100 mein se p parts".
Ek hi fact jo sab kuch clear kar deta hai:
p % = 100 p
YE MASTER KEY KYUN HAI: Symbol "% " bas "÷ 100 " ka shorthand hai. Jaise hi aap % ko ÷ 100 se replace karte ho, ek percentage fraction ban jaata hai, jise phir decimal mein convert kar sakte ho. Neeche har conversion isi ek idea se bani hai.
Ek fraction b a hai hi division a ÷ b . To bas long division karo .
KYUN: 4 3 ka literally matlab hai "3 ko 4 barabar shares mein divide karo". Division definition hai, koi trick nahi.
4 3 = 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75
Last digit ki place value padho aur use 10 ki corresponding power ke upar rakho, phir simplify karo.
KYUN: 0.75 ka matlab hai "7 tenths + 5 hundredths" = 100 75 . Last digit hundredths place mein hai ⇒ denominator 100 .
0.75 = 100 75 = 100 ÷ 25 75 ÷ 25 = 4 3
Kyunki p % = 100 p , p find karne ke liye hum poochte hain "ye decimal kitne hundredths hai?" — 100 se multiply karo.
decimal × 100 = percent
KYUN: 0.75 = 100 75 = 75% . 100 se multiply karne se hundredths ki count milti hai, jo exactly wahi hai jo "percent" chahta hai.
Upar wala ulta karo: 100 se divide karo (yani % ko ÷ 100 se replace karo).
75% = 100 75 = 0.75
Combine karo: fraction ko decimal mein badlo, phir × 100 . Ya seedha denominator ko 100 tak scale karo.
4 3 = 4 × 25 3 × 25 = 100 75 = 75%
p % = 100 p , phir simplify karo.
40% = 100 40 = 5 2
Worked example Example 1 —
8 5 ko decimal aur percentage mein
Step 1: 5 ÷ 8 = 0.625 .
Ye step kyun? Fraction ek division hai; long division decimal deta hai.
Step 2: 0.625 × 100 = 62.5% .
Ye step kyun? Percent = hundredths ki sankhya, isliye 100 se multiply karo.
Answer: 8 5 = 0.625 = 62.5% .
Worked example Example 2 —
0.35 ko fraction aur percentage mein
Step 1: Last digit (5 ) hundredths place mein hai ⇒ 100 35 .
Ye step kyun? Place value denominator batata hai.
Step 2: Simplify: g cd( 35 , 100 ) = 5 ⇒ 20 7 .
Ye step kyun? Fractions lowest terms mein hone chahiye.
Step 3: 0.35 × 100 = 35% .
Answer: 0.35 = 20 7 = 35% .
Worked example Example 3 — Recurring decimal
3 1
Step 1: 1 ÷ 3 = 0.3333 … = 0. 3 (khatam nahi hota).
Ye step kyun? Long division mein remainder 0 kabhi nahi aata.
Step 2: 0. 3 × 100 = 33. 3 % = 33 3 1 % .
Ye step kyun? Wahi × 100 rule; round karne ki jagah exact fraction rakhna better hai.
Answer: 3 1 = 0. 3 = 33 3 1 % .
Worked example Example 4 — 100
se zyada percentage: 150%
Step 1: 150% = 100 150 = 1.5 .
Ye step kyun? % ko ÷ 100 se replace karo — 100% se aage bhi kaam karta hai.
Step 2: 1.5 = 2 3 (ek whole se bada number).
Answer: 150% = 1.5 = 2 3 . Percentages 100% se zyada ho sakti hain!
Common mistake "Decimal ko percent mein convert karne ke liye bas point move karo — lekin kidhar?"
Galat direction kyun sahi lagta hai: Students ko yaad hota hai "decimal point 2 jagah move karo" par direction bhool jaate hain, isliye 0.5 ko 0.5% ya 5% bana dete hain.
Fix: Motion ki jagah meaning pe anchor karo. 0.5 = 100 50 = 50% . Pucho "kitne hundredths?" Percent ki taraf jaate waqt hamesha 100 se multiply karo, percent se aate waqt 100 se divide karo. 0.5 half hai — half obviously 50% hai, 5% nahi.
4 1 = 1.4% "
Sahi kyun lagta hai: Digits 1 aur 4 bas... reuse ho gaye.
Fix: Fraction pehle division hai: 1 ÷ 4 = 0.25 , phir × 100 = 25% . Numerator aur denominator ko kabhi seedha decimal mein mat jodo.
3 1 ko bahut jaldi round karna
Sahi kyun lagta hai: 0.33 clean lagta hai.
Fix: 0.33 = 33% sirf approximate hai. Exact hai 33 3 1 % . Jab exactness matter kare, recurring decimals ko fractions ke roop mein rakho.
Common mistake Place value se galat denominator
Sahi kyun lagta hai: 0.7 dekhne mein "7 out of 100" lagta hai.
Fix: Places gino. Ek decimal place ⇒ tenths ⇒ 10 7 , nahi 100 7 . Point ke baad digits ki sankhya = denominator mein zeros ki sankhya.
Recall Feynman: ek 12-saal ke bachche ko explain karo
Ek chocolate bar socho. Agar use 4 barabar tukdon mein todo aur 3 khao, to ye fraction 4 3 hai. Agar socho bar 100 tiny squares mein kata hua hai, to tumne 75 khaaye hoge — ye percentage hai, 75% , kyunki "percent" ka matlab bas "100 mein se" hota hai. Aur agar calculator wale tarike se likho, 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75 — ye decimal hai. Utni hi chocolate, teen alag tarike se boli! Swap karne ke liye: divide karna decimal deta hai, aur "× 100 ya ÷ 100 " tumhe "100-mein-se" duniya mein le jaata ya wapas laata hai.
Mnemonic Direction yaad rakho
"Percent ki taraf jaao, Upar Push karo (×100); Percent se aao, Neeche Giro (÷100)."
Aur ring ke liye: "Fractions Divide hokar Decimals bante hain, Decimals ×100 se Percent bante hain." (F→D: D ivide; D→P: P lus two zeros' worth = ×100.)
