Inhe kaise alag karein — discriminating traits
1. Nucleus & membrane-bound organelles
- Kyun matter karta hai: compartmentalization se cells badi aur complex ban sakti hain.
- Bacteria & Archaea: no nucleus, no membrane-bound organelles (DNA cytoplasm mein float karta hai, usually ek single circular chromosome).
- Eukarya: true nucleus + organelles (mitochondria, ER, etc.).
2. Membrane lipids — Archaea ka smoking gun
Chemistry se derive karo:
- Bacteria & Eukarya lipids = fatty acids jo glycerol se ==ester bond== () se judi hain, aur chains ==unbranched== hain.
- Archaea lipids = ==isoprenoid (branched) chains jo glycerol se ether bond== () se judi hain.
3. Cell wall chemistry
- Bacteria: wall mein ==peptidoglycan (murein)== hota hai.
- Archaea: wall mein ==peptidoglycan nahi hota== (pseudopeptidoglycan/S-layers use karta hai).
- Eukarya: koi peptidoglycan nahi; plants/fungi cellulose/chitin use karte hain, animals ke paas kuch nahi hota.
