Intuition Ek saanS mein core idea
Ek species ko dikhaawat se define nahi karte, balki kaun kis se breed karke fertile bacche bana sakta hai — is baat se define karte hain. Do organisms ek hi species ke hain agar unke genes ek common "gene pool" mein flow kar sakein. Sher aur bagh dikhte to related hain aur mate bhi kar sakte hain, lekin unke genes essentially alag-alag pools mein band hain — isliye woh different species hain.

Ek species un natural populations ka group hai jo actually or potentially interbreeding hain, doosre aise groups se reproductively isolated hain, aur fertile, viable offspring paida karte hain.

"actually or potentially interbreeding" → woh genes exchange kar sakte hain (chahe abhi distance ki wajah se separated kyun na hon).

Intuition "Looks" fail kyun hota hai
Same species, different look (polymorphism): male aur female peacock bilkul alag dikhte hain, par obviously interbreed karte hain → same species. Dogs Chihuahua se Great Dane tak hote hain → phir bhi ek species (woh ek gene pool share karte hain).
Different species, same look (cryptic species): kuch frogs bilkul identical dikhte hain par kabhi interbreed nahi karte aur unki mating calls alag hoti hain → different species.
Appearance unreliable hai. Gene pool hi asli biological boundary hai , kyunki yahi decide karta hai ki kaunse mutations aur adaptations spread ho sakte hain. Agar genes do groups ke beech flow nahi kar sakte, toh woh hamesha ke liye alag hote jaayenge. Genes ki yahi shared-fate ek species ko ek real evolutionary unit banati hai, sirf ek human label nahi.
